Cocktail Classics: How to Make a Bourbon Black Hawk

It seems like you can't go anywhere without hearing people talk about bourbon, yet I still know so many people who haven't tried it yet, or tried it once and didn't have the best experience. It's really breaking our heart. This recipe is not for those who avoid strong drinks, as there's no alcohol-free mixer present here. But if you're looking for different ways to drink bourbon, we've got another classic recipe for  you to try.

Bourbon Black Hawk

Bourbon Black Hawk 2 ounces bourbon 1 ounce sloe gin 1 maraschino cherry

On a side note… Sloes are a type fruit produced by blackthorn bushes. They look a lot like blueberries but taste more like plums. Sloe gin combines sloe with gin to make a tasty, sweet liqueur that pairs beautifully with dozens of spirits, but especially with gin.

Directions: Combine the bourbon and sloe gin in a shaker with some ice. Give it a little swirl to chill, then pour into a tumbler with new ice. Garnish with a cherry and serve.
