The Cosmo is one of the best drinks ever created. It's soooo perfect. Since January is the month of resolutions that often include healthier eating, we thought that sharing our favorite "skinny" cosmopolitan recipe might be appropriate. For the record, we've each given up a few things including Diet Coke, Cheetos (damn MSG), the best coffee creamer in the world that contains hydrogenated oil, excessive cheese and cracker consumption past 9PM, and multiple cups of dark espresso roast coffee after 9AM. What will not be given up is a great cocktail, or glass of wine several times a week. Because life's too short and you know it.
However, there are times with you want to enjoy one of your go-to drinks but with fewer calories.
This skinny cosmopolitan recipe is the best. It's not too sweet though, so if you want to punch up the sugar just a tad, consider adding ½ a teaspoon of honey.

The Best Skinny Cosmopolitan Recipe ~ 68 Calories 2 ounces vodka orange water infusion (directions below) 65 calories 2½ ounces diet cranberry juice 2 calories ½ ounce lime juice 1 calorie Lime garnish
Directions Combine one cup of filtered water with one cup of vodka, and one sliced organic orange. Allow the orange to infuse the vodka for at least two hours. Remember to stir or shake the mixture every so often.
For the cocktail, fill a martini shaker with ice. Add 2 ounces of the vodka orange water infusion, the diet cranberry juice, and the lime juice. Shake well, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime and serve.
